  Nearly 30  years have passed since my husband’s Grandfather invented “The Crab Cracker”. One night we had friends over for dinner who marveled at the ease and speed with which “The Crab Cracker” cracked our crab and they were even more impressed with the quality of the cracked crab, i.e. no shells imbedded in the crab. I initiated a search for crab crackers and quickly found that nut crackers masquerading as crab crackers were it! My husband made several changes to his grandfather’s design, most notably the curved handle and we were in business (well- it hasn’t been quite that simple!)   The design simplicity of “The Crab Cracker” makes cracking Dungeness crab fun and easy. In a fraction of the time it takes utilizing a traditional hand-held device the “Crab Cracker” produces crabmeat free from embedded shell fragments and without the mess associated with the aforementioned device i.e. nutcracker often masquerading as a cracker of crab.
